Gardening is practice of growing fruits, flowers and flowering plants. It is an art that requires skill and sense of creativity. Making a garden is not tough job but deep interest and involvement is must. Gardening is not just activity of growing it also includes maintaining the garden.

Depending on types of soil, water, climate or sunlight of area types of plants to be planted should be decided.

Indoor gardening refers to growing houseplants within residence. They sometimes are incorporated as part of heating or air-conditioning systems.

Water gardens are primarily divided into three sub categories: submerged (completely under water as water lily), floating (not anchored to soil as clover, ferns) and marginal (roots under water and rest of plant above surface as taro, pickerelweed). Water gardens can be in natural ponds, containers, lakes, man made lakes, bogs or wild rivers.

Container gardening refers to growing plants in any type of container either outdoors or indoors. Containers as pots, plastic mugs, teacups, planters or hanging baskets can be used. This method is used for ornamental purposes mostly ion balcony or roof tops. Many decorative flowers, herbs, vegetables and small trees can be grown in containers. Container gardening is also useful in area where soil is unsuitable for plantation.
